At KNOXIDE by Christopher Knox, authenticity is the foundation of our work. Every artwork — whether an original painting or a limited-edition print — is a genuine creation by Knox, crafted with integrity, expertise, and an unwavering commitment to quality and transparency. This Authenticity Policy explains how we verify, certify, and protect the legitimacy of every artwork bearing the Knox name. Last updated: October 2025
We guarantee that all artworks offered directly through this website, our verified studio, or approved partners are authentic and original creations by Christopher Knox. Each piece is produced using professional-grade materials and techniques to ensure both artistic integrity and long-term preservation. Every artwork — whether physical or digital — is accompanied by clear documentation confirming its origin, materials, and edition status.
All original works and limited-edition prints include an official Certificate of Authenticity (COA) issued by Christopher Knox Abstract Art. This certificate serves as your formal proof of ownership and legitimacy.
Each COA includes the following details:
◼︎ Artist’s full name and signature
◼︎ Artwork title
◼︎ Year of creation
◼︎ Medium and materials used
◼︎ Dimensions
◼︎ Edition type (Original, Limited Edition, or Open Edition)
◼︎ Edition number and total size (e.g., 1/25)
◼︎ Date of issuance
◼︎ Verification seal and/or embossed insignia
COAs are printed on archival-grade paper and feature security identifiers to prevent forgery or duplication.
◼︎ Limited editions are high-quality fine art reproductions (e.g., giclée prints) based on original paintings.
◼︎ Each print is individually numbered, titled, and signed by the artist.
◼︎ The edition size (e.g., 1/25, 1/50) is fixed and will never be increased.
◼︎ Once an edition sells out, it is permanently retired.
◼︎ Open editions are unsigned or digitally signed prints that remain available without a fixed edition limit.
◼︎ These are intended for decorative or entry-level collectors who value accessibility.
Depending on the artwork’s composition, Christopher Knox may sign in one of several ways to maintain the aesthetic balance of the piece:
◼︎ Front signature: Lower corner, discreetly placed.
◼︎ Reverse signature: Back of canvas or panel, accompanied by date and artwork title.
◼︎ Digital signature: For approved digital editions or licensed reproductions.
Every signature is applied personally by the artist and recorded in the studio’s master archive.
A secure Studio Archive Registry is maintained for all artworks, originals, and limited editions. This archive includes detailed images, production notes, and ownership verification for future reference. Collectors can contact us to verify a work’s authenticity at any time using its COA number or edition code. To protect collector privacy, ownership details are only disclosed to the verified owner or legal representative upon proof of identity.
Only artworks purchased directly from www.knoxide.com, authorized partners (such as verified print providers or curated exhibitions), or licensed retail channels are guaranteed authentic. We cannot verify or guarantee authenticity for any artwork purchased through unverified resellers, online marketplaces, or unauthorized reproductions. If you are unsure whether a piece is authentic, please contact us before purchasing.
Where applicable, digital artworks or AI-assisted works are clearly marked as such and include metadata verifying authorship and origin. KNOXIDE does not authorize reproduction, resale, or commercial use of any artwork or image without written permission. All copyrights remain the exclusive property of the artist.
Collectors, galleries, or resellers who wish to verify ownership or provenance can request authentication by submitting:
◼︎ High-resolution images of the artwork (front, back, and signature area)
◼︎ The Certificate of Authenticity (if available)
◼︎ Proof of purchase or ownership
Verification requests should be sent to authenticity@knoxide.com. Please allow up to 10 business days for evaluation and response.
To maintain the integrity of your artwork’s provenance:
◼︎ Keep the COA in a safe, dry, and secure location.
◼︎ Do not alter, laminate, or photocopy the certificate.
◼︎ Retain all original documentation and receipts.
◼︎ Notify us if your COA or artwork is ever lost, stolen, or damaged.
We actively monitor online platforms to detect and report unauthorized reproductions or counterfeit listings. If you encounter any artwork falsely attributed to Christopher Knox, please notify us immediately at report@christopherknox.com. Possession or resale of counterfeit artworks may result in legal action.
