ACCESSIBILITY

At KNOXIDE, we’re committed to providing an accessible, inclusive online experience for all visitors—collectors, designers, and partners—regardless of ability or assistive technology. We continuously improve our site to meet recognized standards and make our artwork, information, and services usable by the widest possible audience.

OUR STANDARD & APPROACH

◼︎ Standards we aim to meet — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

◼︎ Scope — All pages, images, videos, documents, interactive components (forms, buttons, menus), and transactional flows (e.g., viewing, purchasing, booking).

◼︎ Process — Design with accessibility in mind, test with automated tools and manual checks, remediate issues on a rolling basis, and welcome feedback.

STRUCTURE & NAVIGATION

◼︎ Semantic HTML & landmarks — Clear heading order (H1–H6), ARIA landmarks (main, nav, footer) for screen-reader navigation.

◼︎ Consistent navigation — Predictable site header, footer, and menu behaviour across pages.

◼︎ Skip links — “Skip to content” support to bypass repeated navigation.

◼︎ Keyboard compatibility — All interactive elements (links, buttons, accordions, toggles) are operable via keyboard; visible focus indicators are preserved.

TEXT, COLOUR & CONTRAST

◼︎ Readable typography — High legibility fonts, adequate line height, and content width for comfortable reading.

◼︎ Color contrast — Foreground/background colour pairs meet or exceed WCAG AA contrast ratios.

◼︎ Color-independent cues — We don’t rely on colour alone to convey meaning (e.g., icons, labels, patterns).

IMAGES & ARTWORK

◼︎ Alternative text — Descriptive alt text for informative images and artwork; decorative images are marked accordingly.

◼︎ Detail captions — Where helpful, we provide size, medium, edition details, and contextual notes.

VIDEO & MOTION

◼︎ Captions & transcripts — Captions are provided for videos with speech; transcripts are available upon request.

◼︎ Motion sensitivity — We respect users’ system prefers-reduced-motion setting to minimize parallax/zoom effects and provide non-animated alternatives where possible.

LINKS, BUTTONS & FORMS

◼︎ Descriptive links — Link text indicates destination or action (no “click here” for critical tasks).

◼︎ Form labels & errors — Every input has a programmatic label; errors are announced clearly with suggestions to fix.

◼︎ Accessible buttons — Buttons include clear text labels and a discernible focus state.

DOCUMENTS & DOWNLOADS

◼︎ Accessible PDFs (on request) — Tagged PDFs with reading order, alt text, and bookmarks available for certificates, catalogs, and policies.

◼︎ Alternative formats — Large-print or plain-text versions available upon request.

E-COMMERCE & TRANSACTIONS

◼︎ Clear steps — Cart, checkout, and account pages use logical sequences and clear instructions.

◼︎ Time limits — We avoid strict timeouts; if a time limit exists (e.g., reserved items), we provide warnings and extension options.

ONGOING IMPROVEMENTS & ROADMAP

◼︎ Increase caption coverage for legacy videos and add transcripts for studio clips.

◼︎ Expand detailed alt text for historical portfolios and close-up texture shots.

◼︎ Continue reducing motion intensity on hero sections for visitors who prefer less motion.

◼︎ Improve keyboard shortcuts and skip-link visibility across templates.

◼︎ Audit third-party embeds (e.g., maps, scheduling, print vendors) and provide accessible alternatives where needed.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Some content or functions (maps, scheduling widgets, video players, external print storefronts) are provided by third parties. While we encourage accessibility from our partners, their platforms may have limitations. When an accessible alternative is needed, we will:

◼︎ Provide a direct email/phone contact for the same service.

◼︎ Offer equivalent information (e.g., address text in place of a map).

◼︎ Supply alternative documents or formats on request.

PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY (BY APPOINTMENT)

For studio or viewing appointments (when offered):

◼︎ Way-finding: We provide step-free entry information, parking instructions, and building access details before your visit.

◼︎ Accommodations: With notice, we can offer extended viewing time, seating, large-print materials, and assistance with packaging/pick-up.

◼︎ Service animals: Welcome.

If you require any specific accommodation, let us know and we’ll make every reasonable effort to assist.

FEEDBACK & ACCESSIBILITY SUPPORT

Your feedback helps us improve. If you encounter a barrier on our site or need an alternative format, contact us:

◼︎ Email: support@knoxide.com

◼︎ Phone: 613-737-6666

◼︎ Mail: KNOXIDE c/o Christopher Knox, 15 Weatherwood Crescent, Nepean, Ontario, K2E 7C5, Canada

What to include (if possible):

◼︎ Page URL and a brief description of the issue

◼︎ Your browser and assistive technology (if used)

◼︎ A screenshot or steps to reproduce the problem

Response time - We aim to acknowledge accessibility emails within 2 business days and propose a resolution or workaround within 10 business days.

ALTERNATIVE ACCESS OPTIONS

◼︎ Request large-print, plain-text, or tagged PDF versions of key pages and documents (e.g., Certificates of Authenticity).

◼︎ Request phone assistance for browsing artwork or completing purchases.

◼︎ Book a virtual viewing (live video) with real-time descriptions.

COMPLIANCE STATEMENT & DATE

We periodically review pages against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria using automated checks and manual testing. Some components are being improved as we evolve our design system and third-party integrations. Last updated: October 2025

COMMITMENT

Accessibility is a continual process. We value your input and are committed to making Christopher Knox — KNOXIDE welcoming and usable for everyone.
